Connecting mothers; empowering women around the globe.

Friday Question: What’s the funniest thing you’ve heard around the house recently?

Happy April Fools’ Day!  To recognize this day of foolishness, this week’s question comes from Kyla P’an, who asks…

“What is the funniest thing you’ve heard around the house lately?”

Here are some of the funny things our World Moms have heard…

Maggie Ellison of South Carolina, USA writes:
“Don’t pull up your sister’s eyelids while she is sleeping!”

Tara B. of Washington State, USA writes:
“Wrapping up dinner without eating all the veggies, my son says, “Mom, I only have a tiny space left in my stomach, and it’s just for dessert.””

Courtney Cappallo of Massachusetts, USA writes:
“The other day my five-year-old and two-year-old were playing “grocery shopping” with fake money. My two-year-old put a bundle of fake money in her basket, then with a Cheshire grin on her face she says, “I’ve got the riches!!””

DC Blogmama of Washington, DC, USA writes:
“Just yesterday, my almost 22-month old was singing “Haa Dee Dee” (happy birthday) to the scented candles I had just bought for the bathroom.  Then, she gets up and says, “Bye candle.”  I love how she talks to inanimate objects, “hi” “bye” “I see you” and “shoo me” (excuse me).”

Eva Fannon of Washington State, USA writes:
“My four year-old wanted a pet for Christmas, so we decided to start small and bought her some fish. About a month ago one of her fish died. My husband scooped it out of the tank and we flushed it down the toilet.  About half hour after flushing the fish, she comes over to me in the kitchen….

Four-year old: “Mommy, why did you flush the fish down the toilet?”

Me: “So that it could back to the ocean.”

Four-year old:  “I don’t think it will go back to the ocean…I think it will end up where all the poopies go!”

Veronica Samuels of New Jersey, USA writes:
“While I was nursing the baby, my 3 year old grabbed the camera and said, “Mommy!! Say Cheese!!””

Amy Hillis of Ohio, USA writes:
Zachary: “I want to go to Grandma’s house.”

Me: “We can’t go to Grandma’s right now, she’s at work.”

Zachary: (demanding) “I’m GOING to go to Grandma’s house.”

Me: “Really? How are you going to get there?”

Zachary: (waving his hand like the little man-diva he is) “Don’t you worry, I’ll get there.”

What is the funniest thing you’ve heard around the house lately?

And do you have a question you would like to pose to our WMB writers?  If so, email us at wmbsidebareditor@gmail.com to see what they have to say.

Come back on Sunday to check out next week’s travel itinerary!
